I’ve had a crush on Kate Spade (the brand and the lady) since I graduated college and her first bags — simple, nylon, utilitarian — debuted. I was working for a PR firm, and all of the cool girls had Kate Spade bags (that they’d bought in Manhattan, of course). I did not.
And I’ve been harboring a crush for years. 14 to be exact.
Every now and then, I peek at the Kate Spade New York site and lovely blog to see what’s new. And what’s on sale (just in case).
I am in love with all the color in these new arrivals! So cheery. So me.
So out of my price range.
A girl can dream, right?
(For a peek into Kate and Andy Spade’s life and beautiful home, check out the November issue of my new favorite e-magazine, Matchbook.)

I discovered Lucky Accessories at my new favorite local shop, Epona & Oak. Lucky for you, they’re also on Etsy! The jewelry’s charming designs, rich colors and clean lines draw me in like mosquitoes to a light bulb.
I’ve been meaning to treat myself to a little something to commemorate Sophie’s birth. This little yellow heart might just do the trick.
p.s. Stay tuned for my profile on Epona and Oak, run by the lovely Hynes sisters, here on the blog next week!

Isn’t this neat? I love all of the illustrations at cole & josephine (also on Etsy).
And the best thing about this lovely shop is that half of the sale proceeds go to charity.
Give while you get. Pretty cool.

With hurricane Irene approaching, I’m feeling a little worried for my state. Especially for the coast that I so love. Hurricanes are serious business here in North Carolina, and I think everyone, no matter which part of the state they live in, is holding their breath right now.
I stumbled across these pillows on Etsy and fell in love with love, california.
Choose your state, choose your color, place the little heart over your town, and squeeze.
